A time where the rugged beauty of the Chilcotin high-country yielded its breathtaking treasures only to those who ventured off the beaten path and where new wilderness adventures awaited in every brook, vista glade and peak. A Spruce Lake Wilderness Adventure, whether it be on horseback, hiking, mountain biking, skiing or snowmobile is an all inclusive tour that offers you the chance to live this adventure first hand, and discover for yourself some of the most impressive high-country scenery anywhere in the world. Wind your way past the glacier dotted peaks that vault defiantly into the crystal blue sky, descending into meadows of wild alpine flowers, bursting with color from June to September. Along the way you may spot some of the local inhabitants: bears, (black or grizzly), moose, marmots, deer, wolves, mountain goats, California Big Horn Sheep or a Kittiwampus. Bring your camera to capture it all. SPRUCE LAKE WILDERNESS ADVENTURES Began its ski tour operation in 1982, and conducted tours at three locations in the Southern Chilcotin Mountains. In 1985, a new high country cabin was built at 6300’ elevation to allow easier access and extend the season. In 2002 a new all season structure replaced our old cookhouse at our Spruce Lake Camp. Now not only making back country tours more efficient, winter recreation at this camp is now available. In addition to our fully guided service, Spruce Lake Wilderness Adventures will rent our cabins to responsible and experienced groups during the season.
