HAPPY EASTER FROM THE MENHINICKS OF GOLD BRIDGE, BC

Spring has made it to the Bridge River Valley EARLY this year. Yes, spring already on Pearson Pond. The flocks of Snow Geese and Trumpeter Swans have started to arrive on the South End of the Pond where the water is now open. The array of spring birds frolicking in the yard is spectacular! It is fabulous to see the first buds on the Rhubarb in the garden, the tender raspberry leaves about to start their new growth and the discovery of all the treasures that winter buried for us. The sleek coats on the horses are starting to appear and the warm days are making for some good entertainment in the corrals. The horses are enjoying running about with their regular tag games to keep themselves occupied while they weight patiently for the grass to turn green.

With spring now at the ranch the anticipation of the summer season is that much closer. Our Guide Training Program will begin in just over four weeks time. The beautiful weather has brought us lots of interested folks ready to escape their city routines and wander back in time for a week or two. Although, there is still a fair amount of snow in the hills we do expect to be in to check on camp in the very near future.

Our spring specials are still on and we have space available on several tours that may suit your interests. Come explore the Chilcotin waking up from its long winters nap and view the extraordinary display of vivid colours as the wildflower decorate the valleys in June. Watch the great Grizzly dig for roots and graze on tender grasses to settle its stomach.  The awakening of the marmots whistling their tune is a wonderful melody.  June is a great time to travel and with an early spring we are excited to be able to get out their a little earlier than normal.

MOUNTAIN BIKING MADNESS GOT A HOLD ON YOU???
YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS, CHECK IT OUT!!

This trip is the ultimate adventure for those seeking a multi day all single track camp to camp tour in a stunning mountain wilderness area. All trips of this nature begin in Gold Bridge, BC the gateway to BC's famous Chilcotin Mountains. Imagine cycling through flower filled alpine meadows and over 8000 foot mountain passes as we travel from cabin to cabin on challenging wilderness single track.

While we are cycling through this paradise our expert wrangler will guide a team of sure footed pack horses with all our food and gear to the next camp. Pack horses are truly a mountain biker's best friend, we'll dine like kings and ride trails that are not easily accessible to bikers, thanks to our cowboy and his equine friends.

Our mountain accommodations are rustic cabins or large canvas tents with wood floors and wood stoves as well as some dome tents. The camps are comfortable and cozy, a great place to trade war stories by the campfire and talk about what's in store for the next days ride.

Riders should be of at least intermediate ability with single track experience and in good physical condition. Along with amazing descents there are some grueling uphill and hike a bike sections. These are true, rough horse trails with lots of roots, rock drop offs and creek crossings.

You will be expertly guided by bike all day and pampered in the evening with delicious hearty meals and best of all three inch thick foamies for your guaranteed deep sleep.
