Spruce Lake Newsletters

January 2003

We hope this finds you all well and preparing for another exciting year! Last year was a great success and as many of you know there was a lot to talk about in 2002. Everyone who was able to make one of our pack trips last year commented on how great the improvements looked at both the main ranch and mountain camps. We are pleased with how it has come together and couldn’t have done it without the support of a great team of staff.

THE SNOW IS HERE! The horse drawn sleigh is running up at Tyax Resort and will continue up there for the heliskiiers until the end of March. Right now we are starting the peak of our back country ski season. New to this year are the additions of Spruce Lake and Trigger Lake Camps to the tours. We have created 4, 7 and 10 Day fully catered back country ski tours. Camps are stocked with rations so heavy packs can be brought to a minimum. As well we are still catering to those very experience skiers who want to venture out on their own and just rent the huts. Snowmobile transfers are always available for trail heading to Eldorado or Sprucelake.

WILDERNESS GUIDE TRAINING registration has begun for our classes beginning May 1st. If you would like to receive our course outline and admission package drop us a line and we will mail one out to you. Remember classes are kept small to allow for personalized hands on training and basic horsemanship, horseshoeing, horse packing, back country living and so much more! PPSEC Registered, HR Funding available.

BACK COUNTRY HORSEMAN SEMINARS! (new) For those horse lovers that enjoy their own animals yet require packing or back country knowledge prior to being able to explore our amazing back country on their own… this is the week for you! Our guide school instructor will lead these small groups so… this is your chance to ask everything you needed to know. Included is a beginner orientation to the vast network of local trails and those in the new Spruce Lake/South Chilcotin Mountains Park. Bring your own horse or use one of ours. One week seminars are catered to the individuals or groups interest.

THE PHONES ARE RINGING and summer is starting to fill up. We are seeing a lot of excitement over our Taseko Lake Trips. We still have space available on one horseback trip into Taseko on Aug. 9th as well as the return on Aug. 15th. Call now to reserve your spot! For all our regular trips if you are a party of under 6 let us know of your interest so that we have time to allow us to match you with a compatible group. There is still room on the calendar for those wanting to set their own trip dates. Remember the sooner the book the more likely it is you will get your ideal dates and itineraries. There are still available dates and Specials will be mailed out to those interested soon. A second newsletter in February will also go out with some more dates to remember.

So if you are interested in talking arrangements for your 2003 Pack Trip, Pack Horse Assisted Mountain Bike or Hiking Trip give us a call or email us back. We would love to reserve some dates for you!
