Imagine yourself in the middle of nature just as she is waking up
from a long winters nap. Grasslands are green, wildflowers are splendid
and the mighty Grizzly is roaming the green valley bottoms. Your sure
footed horse carries you and all your belongings out into the wild to
capture all this on your cameras and in your memories for a lifetime. One
of our most experienced, highly trained guides will help you to learn to
track these beautiful creatures. This is a great time to hit the back
country as it is still very quiet out there! We will travel into the
freshly revealed valley bottoms where the carpet of wildflowers will be
bursting with energy! Be one with nature and join us for an
experience of a lifetime on a 6 day Wildlife Viewing Pack Horse Tour.
Itineraries will vary according to the Grizzly Movement and weather
conditions on this early mountain tour.
June 8th to 13th (6 day fully catered pack horse tour) $1200.00 per
person plus GST.
Overnight accommodations at the main ranch prior to
the tour is additional.
Sample Wildlife Viewing Itinerary
Day One: We will transport you part way up the trail
to get you into prime bear country. Our horses are waiting for your
arrival at our Lower Relay Camp. After our bear viewing
introduction, horse and safety orientation we will mount up and
head up Lower Tyaughton Creek to our Bannock Camp. Day One may
also be an excursion from Relay Camp up Tyaughton Valley and overnight
back at camp.
Day Two: Travel the grasslands of Tyaughton and up
towards the fortress ridge area.
Day Three: Ride up into Upper Tyaughton Creek
country and return to a sizzling steak dinner at Bannock Camp.
Day Four: Today we will move camp. We will
head over to our Spruce Lake Camp. There are many bears who enjoy on
the fresh shoots around camp as well as the lake trout spawning in the
creek beside camp.
Day Five: Ride the Gun Creek Grasslands and through
the old cowboy camp. Enjoy the abundant display of colourful
wildflowers.
Day Six: On our journey back to the main ranch which
is a fairly long day we will not only enjoy awesome bear viewing
opportunities but have good chances of viewing several other species of
wildlife. An array of birds will also be visiting the
sidehills.
This tour will travel in some of the most spectacular
grasslands of the Spruce Lake Park. We are sure to spot several
local inhabitants!
